It has been my joy to teach Therapeutic Touch in Canada, the United States and several African countries. I came to Therapeutic Touch (TT) through the door of a healing partner. I’ve lived with HIV infection most of my life. AIDS almost did me in during the early 1990s, but TT helped. In the early days of the AIDS pandemic there were no drugs to help combat the virus. I attribute my survival to the use of complementary therapies, especially highly effective TT. Now the medications allow me a full life.
Post recovery, I began learning TT methodology, the theory behind TT and how to teach TT. Once well, I headed to the epicenter of AIDS. In Sub-Saharan Africa TT is an extremely valuable skill for home-based care workers, who provide the majority of support in rural settings where doctors and clinics are few.
I love teaching, learning from students and sharing local and international knowledge through TT. It excites me to watch students deepen their exploration of self, while practicing TT. I was blessed to have studied under Dolores Krieger, Dora Kunz, Cathy Fanslow and Neila Campbell as well as those gifted people currently collaboratively organizing training at Indralaya. Spiritual connections await us in the meadow.
